It’s a jungle out there…
Aquila pronounced AK-weh-lah, uh-KWILL-uh or even a-kee-laa, means eagle in Latin. Just like the eagle, this blog is my “bird’s eye view” on situations or topics that I happen to come across in my life.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted pics of vanity plates, so I thought I’d buck this trend by posting a reader submission. This one is courtesy from Kyknoord. I’d agree with him, it looks like they take their work very seriously.
And so they should – pop over to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) for more.

The top picture was taken in June while on a weekend away in Clarens, a quaint little town in the Free State. I didn’t know it at the time, but this little town is very popular with the Gauteng folk who flock there with their Cabriolets and Harley Davidsons on a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
With all the Gauteng vehicles around, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the sleepy little town was actually vanity city. During our brief stopover there were probably only a handful of cars not sporting personalised plates. But I’m digressing.
A couple of months later I spot this car driving around in the neighborhood.

Can you spot the differences, discounting the picture quality as one of them?
I just wonder if some of our dumb dimwitted lesser spotted brightsparks (Metro traffic officials) will pick up the difference in the plates.
An interesting observation though. In the great order of things, it looks like the BMW drivers are more Violent than their diplomatic Merc counterparts.

Spotted this one at Broadacres over the weekend. Would be cool as a caption contest perhaps?
Do you worst.
Here’s one to start – “They don’t tell me that I drive like a grandpa for nothing”

Another regular visitor to this blog, Kooky, submitted this one.

Question is, what is a vanity like this doing on a Nissan 350Z? Could it actually refer to the company with the same name or were you insinuating something else?
