NASA tool bag orbitting earth

// November 26th, 2008 // No Comments » // News

This is definitely one for the “what the heck” files.

Amateur astronomers in the U.S. have managed to find a tool bag, which NASA astronaut Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper lost during a space walk last week. The 50cm X 30 cm bag, is now orbiting the Earth at a height of 400 kilometres. The tool bag is estimated to be worth about $US 100 000. [via]

Question 1: How on earth do you find something as small as a tool bag in the wide expanse of the night sky?
Question 2: Who even has time to go look for something like that? (And then get to film it)
Question 3: A tool bag worth $100 000? Where can I get my hands on those tools?

Instant billionaires

10 zeroes cut off the Zimbabwe dollar
If you want to feel like a billionaire (or gazillionaire) then you should catch the next flight out to Zimbabwe.

This week the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe lopped 10 zeroes off the value of the Zimbabwe dollar, thereby revaluing Z$10bn of existing currency to one Zimbabwe dollar.

Independent estimates put Zimbabwe’s inflation rate well above the official 2.2m per cent – the world’s highest. On informal foreign currency markets, the Zimbabwe dollar is valued at Z$1,000bn to the British pound – making a revalued Z$1 worth one penny.

Eish – that makes going to the BOB quite a hassle.

Loftus 4 Jesus

Pretoria – The biggest crowd ever recorded at the well-known Loftus Versfeld stadium in Pretoria, gathered on Saturday to listen to farmer and preacher Angus Buchan. There were an estimated 70 000 people.

What a sight to see over 70 000 people lift their hands up for God and shout “hallelujah” and “amen”. I would definitely recommend it to everyone to try get tickets for the various other prayer meets around the country. The Lord’s blessing was very evident and powerful.

Acts 1:8 says:

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witness, telling people about me everywhere”

Together with the 70 000 on Loftus, I’m publicly proclaiming that God is my salvation and my strength.
