Wetting the appetite

// November 30th, 2007 // 7 Comments » // Interesting

Just a little something to wet the appetite a bit. Some new content on its way.

I was in London, UK recently for a business meeting and have been craving a black forest gateau since the time I saw Heston Blumenthal’s version on BBC Food.

This one comes courtesy of the Meliá White House room service menu. Man it was good.

US Navy Snafu

// September 28th, 2007 // 4 Comments » // Interesting

According to MSNBC – the U.S. Navy will have to spend $600,000 to modify a 40-year-old barracks complex that resembles a swastika from the air. Although officials noticed the shape back in 1967, they decided not to do anything about it because it wasn’t obvious from the ground.

With the advent of Google Earth and similar services, the image has been seen by a worldwide audience and now demands attention. The Navy will build a series of landscaping, walkways and solar cells to hide the offending shape from aerial views. A bit of a snafu for the Navy.

Check out the Google Earth Satellite Image of the building.
