Cough cough wheeze

I probably couldn’t postpone a visit to my GP any longer. My burning chest and irritating cough needs a bit more than self-medicated attention.

I’m convinced that travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town this last week was probably not a good idea.

The combination of stale, recycled, conditioned air pumping through the aircraft and the hot humid air in Cape Town (hot for me at least) might just have been the last nail in the proverbial coffin.

I’m off to go hear what the doctor has to say, even if it is just to hear the words, “…drink this cough mixture, this pill for pain and get plenty of rest…”

Perhaps this is an opportunity to catch up on some DVDs, err I mean ZZZs.

Speaking of which, if you read the twitter feeds and facebook statuses of pretty much all the South African social media players, a few things stand out.

They are mostly sleep deprived, stressed and often sick. A vicious circle? Perhaps.

It’s probably a topic that I’ll unpack at some later stage.

For now, it’s off to the GP for me.
