An amazing story of a Father’s relationship with his son.
As of January 31, 2008, Team Hoyt had participated in a total of 958 events, including 224 Triathlons (6 of which were Ironman competitions), 20 Duathlons, and 65 Marathons, including 25 Boston Marathons. They have also biked and run across the USA, in 1992 — a 3,735 mile journey that took them 45 days. [via wikipedia]
What makes this even more remarkable is that Rick can’t walk or talk (he’s a spastic quadriplegic, cerebral palsy, non-speaking person). His father, a retired lieutenant colonel in the air nation guard, pushes and pulls his son across the country and over hundreds of finish lines.
This is a true demonstration of the impenetrable power of love, dedication and courage, as well as, how athletics can serve as a medium for surmounting life’s most inconceivable challenges.

Thanks Mandy – we’ve been using this video at the Dektos inner healing ministry a few times in the past, and it has touched many people – really amazing as you say.
Marting – geesh…that must say something – for Ben to be inspired. He’s a legend himself.

Beautiful story. Really amazing.
