American Hot Rod Star Boyd Coddington Passed Away
// February 28th, 2008 // Cars & Bikes, News // 11,846 views
I was quite surprised to hear this morning that Boyd Coddington, owner of the Boyd Coddington Hot Rod Shop and star of American Hot Rod passed away on February 27, 2008.
Being a bit of a Discovery channel afficionado, I quite enjoy shows like American Hot Rod, American Chopper, Overhaulin’ and others. Not for the fact that these shows, with the exception of Overhaulin’, have most of the show bleeped out, but for the art, skill and sheer passion these guys and girls display for cars and bikes.
Coddington, who’s apprentices included stars like Jesse James and Chip Foose and signature cars include the Alumatub, Silver Bullet, Vern Luce’s coupe and Cadzillais is definitely a legend in the car-building industry and will surely be missed.

Shocking news. All time ROD HERO.

What a shocker! I’m also quite a fan of the show even though I haven’t had much time to watch lately.
Any idea what the cause of death was?
