No really I am fine

Have a seat kermit. What I'm about to tell you might come as a big shock...

Finally, after weeks of waiting and a series of tests the verdict is finally in…I have the results back from my doctor.

For those who haven’t been keeping tabs lately, the last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind tour of waiting rooms, white walls, rubber gloves, magnetic thumping, sonar devices, hospital food, purple pills, snow in Johannesburg and sticky conductive gel.

It turned out that the initial abnormal activity found in my first EEG (I think it was the headache from hitting the wall and then the floor) didn’t show up anywhere else.

The MRI came back clean – I have a cool looking brain and we have confirmed that it does work.  Bloodwork came back 100% and the cardiologist thought I had an excellently shaped heart. Even the 24-hour EEG which had my head connected to 22 wires and was sensitive enough to spike each time I blinked, came back normal.

It was just the 10 day sick leave that actually had me catching a cold.

The doctor is stumped.  She can not believe that nothing else showed up on any of the tests, although I know what happened subsequent to the initial incident (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).  So, with that I’ve been declared fighting fit and 100% strong.  Nothing wrong, nothing to worry about.  No more poking and prodding.

So from my side, just a quick thanks to everyone for the sms’, e-mails, phone calls and comments of support.  I really appreciate it.

It’s business as usual.  Oh, and don’t tell Kermit, I think he’ll freak out.

    A cool looking brain?

I’d be pretty chilled if a doctor told me that.

    Good news either way!

hehe I guess she thought that it was a good sign. I’m thinking a dark, grungy brain is no good…

  4. Great to hear that everything is as it should be.
Question, based on the posted pic, was the doctor’s bad news, that as with Kermit, someone was going to be sticking their hand up your ass.
    Damn medical tests!!..haha

Awesome bro. Glad you’re back, more glad that they’ve proven you have a brain, sweet! I’m still waiting for my results… ;)

Revolving…yeah, every time the nurse came in with rubber gloves, I got this funny feeling.

Don…thanks dude…would have been cool if they could convert my brain to be photographic or something. Imagine the possibilities.

Good to know all is well, bru.
I am still stumped the EEG came back as normal, and I do not mean that in the medical/physical sense. :)

hahah well Chitty…I think it was Forrest Gump who said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Or was it Mark Twain who said, “Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most!”

    Eish – somewhere not there

Glad to hear you are ok, are you sure that lady doctor has’nt got a crush on you? What with all those tests and stuff? :-)
My therapist is great… and my dentist… and my doctor… all of them ladies… they can dissect me any day!
Eish did I just say that?!!!

In all that excitement to try and be funny I forgot to put in my link… what was I saying?

Excellent! Now look after that noggin!

(P.S. 3 years ago, I had a petite mal incident behind the wheel of my car. Also ran the whole gamut of tests…and nothing. Sometimes, it’s just the universe’s way of saying “slow down”. Fekkin’ glad you ok, though!)
