Tagged Top 5 Things To Do

It’s been a while since I posted anything new. Things are quite busy at the moment, so there’s been little time to blog.
What better way then to kick off a new post by indulging in a bit of Meme time. I have been tagged by my number 1, Victoire to spill the beans on my top 5 things to do. Or as Victoire put it, the simple pleasures in life.
So here goes…
- Hosting a braai
Yes, the good old South African braai is still a favourite event in my calendar. I’m specifically saying event, because it should always involve bringing together a host of friends, close family or just you and your special loved one. - Cooking melkkos
Directly translated as milk food, it’s a combination of milk, flour, butter and cinnamon sugar. It’s really comforting on a cold winter day and so simple to make. A special dish indeed. - Warm towels
This is going to sound funny and a bit sissy, but nothing beats the feeling of hot fluffy towels straight from the dryer (or if you’re fancy, one of those towel warmer racks) after a hot shower or bath in winter. - The smell of rain
More precisely, the smell of the earth after a rainstorm. The air is so fresh and clean and you can smell the earth, leaves, trees, flowers and everything else. There’s also something rewarding about taking a walk after some rain in the glistening streets. Best done where there are loads of trees lining the side of the road and the leaves strewn like a blanket all over the place. - Sleeping in on a weekend
There’s nothing more rewarding than occasionally sleeping in on a weekend. With a hectic schedule and many activities on the go, it’s sometimes nice to just switch off completely and recharge those batteries. It’s nice to get to sleep till you wake up and then turn around and sleep some more. Alternatively, it’s also quite relaxing to stay in with a good book or watching a marathon of old favourite movies.
As is customary with all meme’s, you have to keep this alive by spreading the word and tagging your friends. So if you feel like you want to share some of your simple pleasures in life, why not tag yourself and let me know that you’ve done so. Enjoy.

Wow. Good list.
The smell after a highveld thunderstorm is one of my favourite things.
Warm towels are cool…

Roger the warm fluffy towels, they rock!
Apparently, using fabric softener on towels is a no-no, as it reduces the fibre’s fluffiness. Rather, wash them without softener, and then give each towel a hard whiplash shake after drying - then enjoy the fluffy glory.
Read this in Men’s Health btw, not Cosmo
