27dinner March 2007Big up to all the over-achievers who got their 27dinner (27-3) posts out early this morning (or last night – gold stars all around).

I’m still feeling a bit frazzled this morning. Not that I had Bacchus looking over my shoulder or anything.

I only had one glass of red with Scott and a glass of white with Victoire (of Chilibean and SmokingTT fame).

I think I can attribute this frazzled feeling to a lack of sleep though. I’ve just started on a project at work that will keep me nailed to my desk for the next two weeks, although they’ve agreed to let me out on Friday night for the SA Blog awards.

Seems that while I was presenting brand compliance training to 20 cheerful staff members in a mild state of sleep deprivation this morning, Groogle had the exact breakfast I was craving. You chop – thanks for sharing.

But back to the original topic.

The 27dinner seems to have been a resounding success and it was great to see so many new faces this time around. It was also great fun to connect with some of the friendly faces whom we missed last time around.

I don’t have much to add by way of commenting on the speeches etc, but it would have been nice to hear Scott’s talk – By the way, good luck with that thing, at that place, some time next week.

There were a lot of people connecting, establishing business ventures, sharing ideas and generally just socialising. A hectic week awaits, considering that the SA Blog Awards dinner is on Friday.

By the way, if you are posting pictures to Flickr please could you do two things, tag the pics with at least 27dinner and post them to the geek dinners (South Africa) pool.

    Looking at the pics at Flickr makes me sad. I’m missing out on a lot of the formative growth period og blogging in SA and opportunities to meet a lot of good people.

    I have not been to any Geek dinners here. They are localised an far away from home which means hotels etc.

    I do feel kak. Mostly because of the fun you have and those blerry brilliant tans you all have. Hell, put me in front of a sheet and all you see is the blue network of my veins! Jislaaik I am pale. Not good.

    OK. Got to go get some lunch.
