“It is the eeriest feeling,” said Steven Jackson*, a 21-year-old waiter who was working at a nearby restaurant. “You’d wait for the lights to change, and wait, and think somebody is playing a sick joke.”

Police Chief Chris Kotze* said at a news conference that little was known about the slayings. No motive has been established and no connection has been found between the two sites of the killings. Police officials said they did not know whether these were gang related incidences.

“It appears, at this point, to be very random,” Chief Kotze said.

Thabo Mokoena*, an off-duty police officer from Fourways, was eating dinner with his wife when he heard the echoes of the first slaying. He responded first, keeping the traffic light occupied until members of City Roads and the local ambulance services arrived a few minutes later.

But for thousands of people, these two robots have become part of their lives, keeping watch over a thoroughfare of pedestrian commerce that echoes many of the old values and perceptions that car culture and sprawl have supplanted.

“It feels like somebody has invaded our small, safe community,” said Anna Forte*, a local resident.

    It’s all so senseless! Why isn’t the government DOING ANYTHING about this? It won’t be long before ALL our robots will pack up and emigrate to Canada.

  5. tripeak says:

    Maybe FNB has something to do with it…

    green + amber = FNB
    red = Against Crime

    and if that’s not enough evidence… we KNOW they have something called a RABOT!

  6. Kevin Cadman says:

    Haha! How arbitrary.

    Who would commit such a heineous crime? The poor, innocent robot!

    Soon there will be cameras overlooking robots; screw the people!

  7. Aquila says:

    lol Kyknoord…possibly. Do the Canadians drive on the left side of the road, otherwise our robots will find it difficult to adjust.

    Tripeak, lol, it sound a bit like a conspiracy to me too. Think you’re on to something there. LOl @ Rabot.

    Kevin, seems as though the ferrari driver was finally caught trying to kill another robot.
