Chilipod podcast launched

After much hinting during the 27dinner, Paul and Victoire finally released Episode 1 of Chilibean’s new Chilipod podcast.

I got to listen to it today and I must admit that it looks like we’re going to see some good things from these two. So if you’re into new media with a good dose of tech thrown into the mix, then be sure to grab the feed.

Just some technical observations though.

I think the length was just about right, keeping it just under 20-minutes. A nice byte-size chunk of content, just long enough to get you through a commute or in between meetings.

Mike and Dave got a royal beating regarding sound quality for episode one of Amplitude – In light of this, maybe a public place for a podcast may not be the wisest choice. That being said, the clarity issue was mainly limited to the background noise.

Personally I’d go with the iTunes version (.m4a), since there are still a ton of people on dialup (like me) and it makes it kinda easy to aggregate.

I’m looking forward to the next couple of episodes, because I’m sure that just like a fine red wine, podcasts like Chilipod, Amplitude and other new South African generated content will mature over time. Here’s to the pioneers.

    Hi Aquila

Thanks for the great review. We’re definitely looking for much more of the same from the rest of the blogosphere as far as constructive critisism goes.

I hear you about the sound quality – we will have to investigate a new recording studio… and forfeit the yummy drinking chocolate at Leonidas. ;)

Looking forward to exploring our chilipodcasting voices…

    Pleasure.

One could always do a post-podcast swing by Leonidas to recap….

You touched on something very important there…exploring your voices. Finding your voice and build on it will go very far in building and maintaining the reader and listener base.

    So keep talking….

Actually I think one answer would be to record a show in a car if we can’t settle on a quiet and convenient venue. We could dub the show, the Parking Sessions … !

Thanks for your feedback Aquila, really appreciated.

I think The Link may just be the perfect vehicle for a pimpcast.
