Superman Returns – Not The Review

// July 6th, 2006 // Movies // 3,420 views

This is not a review of the new Superman Returns movie as yet, but rather a completely trivial piece of information to tell you that I’m off to go see it on Friday night.

I have received mixed reviews one and offline, so I’m quite interested to go see it for myself. Untill then, you’ll just have to be content with some of the trailers and video clips to keep you entertained.

    Go watch the movie! – it is well worth it (If you enjoyed the old ones that is)

    hey AQ.
    I watched it on Monday evening and walked out going “that wasn’t bad at all”.

    it’s 2-&-a-half hours long so it’s a bit of an epic with these huge scenes and lots of drama but there is definitely more violence than the previous ones.
    as for the actors, well I started to believe the characters after a while so that’s not too bad then. they’re fairly unknown to me so I didn’t have any expectations of them.
    well, except for Kevin Spacey. he makes Lex Luther very different to any other that I’ve seen before. he bring a bit of humour to the character and even tries to get away with the same James Bond style puns. doesn’t quite look that mean though but does make him look real.

    the sets and costumes are good and I never once thought “aggghhh look at the blue screen acting” (like in King Kong – what crap).

    overall it was a good movie.
    definately worthwhile seeing on the big scrren.

    Thanks Daedalus and bigric – indeed I have seen and have in my collection the Superman and Smallville DVD’s, so you could say I’m a fan. Still wondering about the Lois and Clark boxsets. Anyhow, the 2.5 hour thing also stood out – so I thought I’d go see it at a time when I am not too tired. You know how it goes – you go see LOTR, see the first 30 mins, fall asleep and then wake up 5 minutes before the end.

    I have some high expectations, especially after following Brian Singer’s journal and podcasts during the filming. I’ll let you know how it went.

    Jennifer – Some pet owners should be shot for doing stuff like that.
