An Early Xmas Present

Christmas came early this year, I finally upgraded the old busted digital camera and got myself the Samsung Pro815 Digital SLR camera.
A couple of things stand out for me, the optical zoom, the abundance of megapixels, the top viewfinder and the absolutely massive LCD screen!! This thing is huge – almost the same size as the PSP.
Some features include:
Oh and Engadget had this to say about the camera.
I’ll probably have a better review on the camera once I’ve had a chance to play around with it some more.

Very interesting. I’m getting the Fuji S9500 in January, so I’m looking forward to that!

Tx Ekapa – it’s definitely growing on me..
Derek, the DPReview is awesome – really thorough. thanks.
PS: Up to now I’ve had the Fuji S5000 – A pretty decent machine – so the Fuji S9500 sounds pretty cool.

gosh! Didn’t even know Samsung made SLR’s. The Fuji FinePix cameras are so stylish!! Always loved them, but then I got myself the SONY CyberShot F828 2 days after it’s SA launch. (that was 2 years ago)

Tripeak – apparently it was their first stab at a SLR. Not bad going considering that it is still entry level in terms of the competition.
Probably the only drawback is that the lens is not removable, which obviously makes the Canon’s and Nikon’s of the world a better bet if you want to upgrade the lenses at some point. But all-in-all, a good allround camera for the specs in my opinion.

[...] I may have mentioned before that I have a weird fascination with the moon. So much so, that it was one of the influencing factors when I upgraded my digital camera some time ago. It had to be able to take pictures of the moon. This meant full manual settings and an adequate zoom lens. [...]
