Just incase you thought that UCAV’s (Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles) only came to life in movies such as Stealth you better check out this gallery of UCAV pictures taken at the Edwards AFB 2005 Air Show.

The full gallery with pictures of the B2, F-117 Stealth Fighter and the U-2 amongst others, can be viewed here.

Unfortunately you won’t find Jessica Biel piloting this baby.

Thanks to Bob from “More Junkmail from Bob!” for the pictures and other cool links.

R300 A Photograph

// November 18th, 2005 // 5 Comments » // General

Hmm, what a surprise to find a nondescript letter in the post this week, informing me that the Ekurhuleni Metro have gratuitously decided to take a digital pic of my vehicle, travelling down the N12 the other day, and that I should now pay them R300 bucks for the service.

So on further investigation into the letter, they present you with a reference number, which you have to use with your vehicle registration number on this website and boom – there’s your car’s picture for download.

But wait, there’s more. Along with your car’s picture you get some other nifty particulars, such as the exact location, date, time (up to the second) and quite ingeniously, the speed at which you were travelling.

There are just two things that bug me. Firstly, that they don’t ask your permission before taking the picture and secondly, the cost. I mean, really, R300 is a bit steep for just a rear-view picture of my car? Not to mention that they tend to crop it a bit on the left hand side.

Guess it warrants another trip to Alberton to go pay my dues.

Gotta love Metro though.

I Don’t Want You Back

// November 16th, 2005 // No Comments » // Funnies

First there was the Numa Numa song, now it seems that Eamon’s(F**K It) I don’t want you back” has been given a bit of a video makeover.

Found over at anothersite.co.uk it is a clip of a guy miming to the lyrics of the song. However boring that may sound, it gets interesting around the chorus of the song where he goes over to (shall we say) sign language.

A bit of mindless entertainment for the afternoon. If you couldn’t be bothered with streaming the clip – click here for the direct download (1.9MB WMV).
