iPod Video Launched

According to Apple - “First it played songs. Then photos. Then podcasts. Now iPod plays video…”

It seems the months of speculation is finally over - Apple has announced the recent addition in the iPod range with the launch of the iPod Video. According to the news release the new iPod has support for up to 150 hours of video and a 2.5-inch colour display in addition to the claimed 20 hours of battery life.

The device is also thinner and lighter than before and will be available in another monochromatic colour - black.

More features and specs here…

PS: Just a last through - Since I already have the 60GB iPod Photo it doesn’t make sense to go out and buy the new one (same capacity) just to be able to play videos.

How about releasing a flash software update to upgrade the current iPod Photo’s to play video. I guess that will never happen, ‘cos how else will Apple make its money?
