Happy Birthday Blog

With little pomp and circumstance this blog became one year old on 10 September. Yes folks, can you believe it’s been a year ago that I finally threw myself into the world of blogging and my what a ride it has been.

From the very first post “Communicators Communicating” the blog has seen some fairly interesting posts. I’ve blogged various stories ranging from POES pictures, farting herring, Coke floats, waxing gone wrong, transparent screens, bloggers blogging, the phenomenon that was Numa Numa and The Hoff, all while playing strip twister.

I made some friends, saw them on TV, and met them in person. Heck we even tried to upstage one another with weapons of mass seduction while wearing Jean Pants. Then I met some more and more friends.

This past year has seen its fair share of tragedies from the Wanderers fire, shark attacks, earthquakes, terror attacks in London, to the passing of Christopher Reeve, Daleen Matthee, ‘Scotty‘ and more recently Etienne Botha.

The world got a cancer scare and even Rich! had a near-death experience, not that he was in line for a Darwin award but others were. I even got stabbed during a housebreaking and I have the scars to prove it.

But let us not forget the good times.

I ate some, cooked some, bowled for some and went out for some. I cured some hangovers and had to go P.

Lighting struck (not twice but three times) during the rain which brought forth spring in all its glory. Even the moon disappeared twice in one year.

Then I played.

I played with toys – from the iPod and its various accessories, books and podcasts to blogging with a cellphone, gadget bags and PS2′s with Gran Turismo, even though I had to wait every once in a while.

I mentioned my affinity for Volvo (1,2,3,4,5,6) and went out and finally got the new one.

The BMW Williams team made an appearance or two or three and I made no bones about the fact that I don’t like our taxis very much. Lest to say that I wanted a Hummer to blow them away. Luckily JHB Metro and the SAPS were there to serve and protect.

At times the traffic moved at a snails pace and at times it just stood still. I didn’t think one would get very far in a Brakpan limousine, although I still wouldn’t mind getting my hands on the mini limo instead.

And the ladies…oooh the ladies. From girls in wonderbras and backless panties to celebrity bra sizes and small boobies.

I hid the hotties, saw them dance seductively, ogled them in their bikinis and downloaded their phone pictures.

Although celebs such as Avril Lavigne, Jessica Biel, Teri Hatcher, Jessica Alba, Nance, Sharon Stone, Brittany Murphy and Victoria Fuller took a bow on this blog, there’s a reason why I love Africa.

Poor Britney Spears had it in this year – from the rumours to the rolls, the boep and being on the verge of popping.

Even our favourite action spy babe, Jennifer Garner, shocked us all by getting pregnant, engaged and married. Unfortunately so too did Katie Holmes, who got engaged to old Tom Cruise.

As with all things in a year, you make a resolution and you break it. The past 12 months have been an absolute pleasure.

Thanks so much for all the comments – yeah – it’s been a bumper year..

Absolutely right bigric – it was fun going through the old posts and more often than not – thinking why the heck I even posted some of them in the first place. (PS. Wicked space – I’ll link it shortly)

I’m glad you all stuck with me and that you keep on reading – luckily you haven’t hit the unsubscribe button yet. (although I think the splatterdudes may just have done so….)
