Hummers To Be Manufactured In SA

According to reports on iAfrica and CARtoday, General Motors South Africa (GM SA) has been awarded an R18-billion contract to manufacture and export the US designed Hummer H3 vehicle.
Production will commence from late next year at GM’s Struandale plant in PE. It is estimated that the project will run from 2006-2012 and create 450 jobs.
The vehicle would be available in the South African market from mid 2007, although prices have yet to be announced.
Respect to GM for securing this contract and for creating new jobs. Just a plead though to make local pricing not too exorbitant, as imported H2’s have been seen around town with a price tag of over R1-mil.
I may only be able to afford a Hummer golf cart then.

H3 baby, wooo! I’ma get me one of those. Then pimp it - DVD’s, subs, StayPlation and huge 24’s (with spinners of course). Then, drive to Menlyn on Saturday morn, and climb the curb and park it!

Shweet dude…maybe we should get the limo version, so we can pop a small Jacuzzi in the back too..

its a piece of shite !
unless you get the limo version!
americans have no idea…
took a bloody perfect vehicle and tried to copy the “jeep” concept.
fools… -
The americans can’t get every(any)thing right….
Of all the hummers, my favourite though is the H2, or as above, the limo version - purely from a pimpmobile perspective. Totally unpractical, but probably still a headturner.
