The Earth Shook Under My Feet

No, I’m not referring to the lyrics of the Moody Blues song, nor the effects of eating too much spicy Indian food at Bukhara. I’m referring to a tremor we experienced in Jozi this morning.

** Updated: According to news reports the ‘little’ earthquake clocked 5 on the Richter scale. It originated at the Durban Roodepoort Deep (DRD) Goldmine, near Stilfontein.

In any event, it was quite freaky having the building and our desks shake around like that.

    Dude. Buhkara?

You’re just around the corner from Slam Bombay, finest curry house in all the land (it’s in fourways gardens, much cheaper, much nicer).

And there I was thinking that my anal intruder 5000 got turned to high-speed…!

Went to Shahi Punjab opposite your offices in Banbury last night, not too bad, average priced, liked the entrées. Apparently they have a buffet on Tuesday’s and Sunday’s for R40 per person?

For take-aways though I quite liked Coriander-‘n-All in Douglasdale close to Woolies.

Will definitely try out Slam Bombay.

  3. Guys, is this what you chat about when you play roller-hockey together: cuisine? It would be cute, if you were girls…

…but Bukhara in CT is still tops for a good curry, and Sunrise Chip ‘n Ranch (aka Johnny Roti’s) in Mowbray (also in Durban, I hear)is the best after a bender. Chip ‘n cheese roti with chicken gravy. Mmmmm.

I got my induction to Indian cuisine at Bukhara in CT – that’s why I have a fondness for the place.

Favourites, must be Lamb Rogan Josh
    or the Butter Chicken.
