This could very well be the case if predictions by some economists are anything to go by. News headlines today report that motorists could be paying as much as five rand a litre for petrol as early as next month.
Apparently international crude oil prices continue to soar and are expected to hover around the eighty dollars a barrel mark. This, economists say, could push the petrol price to record highs.
South Africans are still recovering from an increase of 42 cents a litre earlier this month. The Automobile Association agrees that another hike is inevitable.
