Volvo Offers iPod Connectivity

Volvo has announced that it will offer two iPod connectivity options with their car stereo systems for their entire 2005 US model line.
Volvo joins other car manufacturers Mercedes-Benz USA, Volvo, Nissan, Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, allowing customers to enjoy high-quality sound through their car’s stereo system, easily access their entire music library and control their iPod using their car’s standard controls.
These companies join BMW and MINI Cooper who began providing integrated iPod solutions in 2004.
Although this is not a brand new concept – it does make life easier if you’re not interested in installing your own iPod Car Kit.
According to the news release, Volvo is also creating playlists on the iTunes Music Store to encourage customers to discover music from emerging Scandinavian artists. The Volvo playlists will include a wide variety of Scandinavian artists and genres, and will feature unique download opportunities from artists such as Tina Dico, The Tiny, The Concretes and The Perishers.
The Concretes? Eh? That’s almost like trying to imagine a Ford in Benoni kitted out with an iPod playing Patricia Lewis songs….
