According to Beeld newspaper this morning, all the tickets for the Currie Cup Final at Loftus between the Blue Bulls and the Cheetahs have been sold. Mr Hugo Kemp, Loftus stadium manager said that 32 000 tickets were already sold out by 14:00. Apparently prospective ticket buyers camped out at the stadium entrance from 02:00 yesterday morning.

In other news, Heyneke Meyer, coach of the Blue Bulls rugby team yesterday implied that he was going to load the bench with tight-forwards, in anticipation of the physical match-up this weekend against the Cheetahs.

Rumors have it that Geo Cronje, Springbok and Blue Bulls lock signed with English club London Harlequins for an annual paycheck of Â£80 000 (roughly R915 000) and that the Bulls might relieve him from his contract, sooner than expected.

Teammate Frikkie Welsh, on the other hand, has already signed with English club Bath and it would seem as though the two will become direct opponents in the English Premier League.

Sad news for the Bulls indeed.
