Ralf Steps On To Podium At Japanese GP

Ralf Schumacher (BMW WilliamsF1) finished in second place at this weekend’s Japanese GP in Suzuka behind brother Michael Schumacher (Ferrari). Although Ralf followed his brother closely at the start of the race, he got stuck in traffic after one of his pitstops and never really recovered after that. He was however able to keep Jenson Button (BAR-Honda) from the second position and Jenson was eventually placed third.

I think this was a great ‘text book’ race for Ralf who has been on the sidelines since fracturing his spine during an accident at Indianapolis in June. Ralf returned to F1 only one race ago for the Chinese GP, during which he did not finish after a racing incident with David Coultard (McLaren-Mercedes).

Well done Ralf, we’ll be rooting for a podium finish in Brazil as well.
