Volvo recalls 460 000 vehicles across the globe

According to Cartoday.com “The recall involved S80, S60, XC70 and V70 wagons from the 1999, 2000 and 2001 model years. The manufacturer said a defect in the main fan, which cools the engine, could cause a short circuit and force the fan to keep running. If the fan’s motor overheats, a fire could occur, the report added.

Locally, it seems that no cases have been reported yet, but it is estimated that in South Africa, 2525 Volvos fall within the range for which this possible problem has been identified.
